The next “Star Wars” series, to be directed by Jon Watts of Marvel Studios’ “Spider-Man” films, has a title and its first cast member, British actor Jude Law.
The show’s title has been changed from “Grammar Rodeo” to “Skeleton Crew,” and the launch date has been set for 2023, but storyline specifics are still unknown.
“Skeleton Crew” will take place after the events of “Return of the Jedi,” following the Empire’s demise. It will have the feel of an ’80s coming-of-age adventure picture.
The casting process has already begun for four children between the ages of 11 and 12.
“It’s about a bunch of teenagers around 10 years old who become lost in the Star Wars world,” Watts teased. “It stars four kids, but it’s not a kids show.”
Watts will also executive produce with veteran “Star Wars” supporter Dave Filoni and “The Mandalorian” showrunner Jon Favreau.
Law most recently starred in “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore,” repeating his role as a youthful Albus Dumbledore.
