The outgoing President paid a visit to the late Queen of Philippine Movies, renowned actress Susan Roces, on Wednesday night.

Susan Roces’ wake was on its final night, as her interment at Manila North Cemetery was set for Thursday, May 26, 2022.
The President was at Malacañang for the ceremonial receipt of the credentials of the ambassadors from Argentina, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Greece before proceeding to the wake.
Despite supporting his daughter’s campaign, the President has been unable to witness the declaration of his daughter, Vice President-elect Sara Duterte-Carpio, at the Batasang Pambansa Complex.
The senator acknowledged the President for attending her mother’s funeral on Facebook.
The senator stated that “Pinahahalagahan ng aming pamilya ang kabutihang loob na magbigay-pugay sa aking ina ang Pangulo ng ating bansa. Maraming salamat, PRRD.”

Senator Grace Poe, Susan Roces’ daughter, accompanied the President and Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go to Heritage Park.
Grace Poe, who finished third in the presidential election that elected Rodrigo Duterte in 2016, was observed speaking with the President for many moments, during which she also presented the President to members of her family.

President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. and his wife Liza had also paid a visit to Susan Roces’ wake the night before.
“Pasasalamat sa paglalaan ng inyong mahalagang panahon para magbigay-galang sa alaala ng aking ina at sa inyong pakikidalamhati sa aming pamilya sa panahong ito ng aming pagluluksa,” the senator stated.
