Many celebrities, such as presumptive President Bongbong Marcos, attended Susan Roces’ funeral. Senator Grace Poe, Roces’ adopted daughter, posted images of Marcos’ visit to her Instagram account. The images that have gone viral show Marcos speaking and attempting to sympathize with Senator Poe. Netizens praised BBM for taking the time to acknowledge an entertainment legend and mourn her family.
Marcos Jr. arrived in the evening at Taguig’s Heritage Park to express his condolences to the family of Roces, called the “Queen of Philippine Movies.”

Inside the chapel, Poe personally greeted Marcos Jr.
The emotional photos show Marcos speaking and attempting to console Senator Poe. Senator Poe expressed gratitude to Marcos for his kind gift to her and her late mother.
“Pasasalamat sa paglalaan ng inyong mahalagang panahon para magbigay-galang sa alaala ng aking ina at sa inyong pakikidalamhati sa aming pamilya sa panahong ito ng aming pagluluksa,” Senator Poe posted on Instagram.
Other notable visitors to the wake on Tuesday were former congresswoman Gina de Venecia, music veteran Ogie Alcasid, singer Pops Fernandez, and actor-director Eric Quizon.
Roces’ wake will be open to the public until Wednesday, May 25.
Roces’ remains will be placed alongside her husband and fellow filmmaking legend Fernando Poe, Jr. on Thursday, May 26 at the Manila North Cemetery.
Susan Roces was a Filipina actress who rose to prominence as one of the Philippines’ most famous and successful celebrities. On December 25, 1968, she married “Da King,” and they adopted a daughter, Senator Grace. FPJ died in 2004 at the age of 65 after suffering from a stroke that was subsequently diagnosed as multiple organ failure by physicians. Susan died of heart arrest on May 20th, at the age of 80.
