At the Pasay Cuneta Astrodome on March 16, at a meet and greet with supporters of vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, Salvador Panelo sang Sharon Cuneta’s iconic song “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas” at the Pasay Cuneta Astrodome. It will be remembered that the senatorial candidate became a big issue on social media after Megastar Sharon Cuneta chastised him for not informing her when he performed one of his popular songs.

Sharon also stated that Panelo’s actions were unpleasant and that she would have been embarrassed if her songwriter, Willy Cruz, had suddenly gotten up.

“It’s one of my favorite songs because it reminds me of the great lengths I took to care for my late son, Carlo, who had down syndrome. I honor nim each time I sing the song.” Panelo said.

He also apologized to Sharon for what he had done, but insisted on continuing to sing it since he had said goodbye to Viva Records and said that it had allowed him to sing “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas.”

Sharon removed her message, which had received hundreds of comments from netizens, a few days later.

Panelo acknowledged in a shared post that he is a qualified Sharonian and that he also sung “Ikaw” during the burial of his son Carlo.

According to the senatorial candidate’s camp, he will release an album through Viva Record, and he recorded his version of “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas” yesterday, which will be available on music streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. However, according to an article published in which they interviewed Viva Records’ advertising and promotion  manager, Punch Liwanag, he did not know what album Panelo would record.

We are unaware of any new recording Secretary Sal has with Viva Records. Secretary Sal only has one song recorded and released last year,” he added.

“You Are The Love of My Life,” an original composition by Panelo, was recorded and released last year.
