PAGASA Latest Updates of Tropical Depression “EMONG” on July 5, 2021

PAGASA released a statement, At 4:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression “EMONG” was estimated based on all available data at 530 km East Northeast of Casiguran, Aurora or 560 km East of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan (17.2°N, 127.0°E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center and gustiness up to 70 km/h. It is moving West Northwestward at 40 km/h. Meanwhile, the Low-Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 375 km West of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro (13.7°N, 117.7°E).

Rains with gusty winds will be experienced over Batanes and Babuyan Islands. Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms is expected over the rest of Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Abra, Benguet, and Aurora province caused by Trough of TD EMONG/Southwest Monsoon.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards. Residents along the mountain slopes are advised of possible landslides mudslides, rock slides, and flash floods.
