The noontime show of ABS-CBN, “It’s Showtime” announces temporarily suspension of their live staging.

The announcement was confirmed by an official statement released on Sunday, March 21, 2021 saying the reason that it is for everyone safety to the host and production team following after the surging cases of COVID-19 infection in the country.

According to the Department of Health (DOH) new cases of COVID-19 infections drastically escalate that records 7,757 on Sunday which marked as the second-highest on the record as of writing following after the 7,999 new cases on Saturday, the DOH said.

DOH also reported 663,794 cases in the Philippines with 12,968 total deaths and 577,754 recoveries. As of writing there are 73,072 active cases, the DOH added.

The surge of COVID-19 cases prompted the government officials to place some areas in Luzon and neighboring provinces to place under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) implementing restriction which effectivity started March 22, 2021 until April 4, 2021. The affected areas that placed under GCQ include Metro Manila, and neighboring provinces including Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna and Cavite.
