OPM Icon Claire dela Fuente passed away this morning due to cardiac arrest. Relatives of the singer confirmed her passing early this morning. Claire’s son, Gigo, also confirmed this news. Dela Fuente was 63.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Gigo confirmed that his mom was in the hospital, because she was CoViD-19 positive. Gigo mentioned that her mom had anxiety, hypertension and diabetes.

Eva Eugenio, one of the Jukebox Queens, who would always perform with Claire Dela Fuente and a dear friend to the singer, penned a tribute post on Instagram. ‘I will truly miss our chikahan, laitan, tawanan at kantahan… Jukebox Queens will not be complete without you.’

Claire dela Fuente’s son Gigo de Guzman details, “She was diagnosed last week along with myself but I [am] asymptomatic while she showed mild symptoms, which is why she was recommended to go to the hospital and to be monitored.”

“Everything seemed fine and she seemed OK until last night when her anxiety got the best of her. We were told that her heart gave in this morning and they tried to revive her but there was nothing they could do,” he added.
