Jan Catherine Sy, daughter of SM Prime chairman Henry Sy Sr. was supposed to get married on April 9, 2021.
This was confirmed by her father Henry “Big Boy” Sy, Jr. during his eulogy speech. It was supposed to be the second big event in the family after Jan’s sister wedding Jessica last year on January 2020.
According to Big Boy, Jan made her last fitting of her gown that wedding is supposed to be set on the 9th day of April this year 2021.
On his eulogy speech, Big Boy revealed that her eldest daughter was the one on their family members who took care of him and his wife, Princess to ensure their safety during the pandemic lockdown in the country even if she was busy preparing for her most special day in her life with her boyfriend, Jack.
Big Boy also described her daughter as joyful, kind and patient to attend the needs of them as her parents.
“By God’s grace and compassion, He allowed us to speak to Jan moments before she was intubated and she said she was ready to meet Jesus, giving a double thumbs up and then pointing to the sky saying ‘with Jesus’,” said Big Boy.

Jan Catherine Real Cause of Death Revealed
The granddaughter of business tycoon Henry Sy Sr., Jan Catherine died on Thursday, March 18, 2021 with the medical findings of sepsis, a condition that the patient suffered damaged of tissues in response against the infection of the body causing Jan Catherine’s untimely death. Jan Catherine works as vice president of SMDC, the real estate arm of the company also inclined and enjoys horseback riding that aside from her hectic schedule on her work, she went abroad to study to be a good equestrian.
