The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) killed an official of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Sunday. The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) stated that Undersecretary Joji Aragon died of cardiac arrest due to COVID-19.

“It is believed that she contracted the virus following a procedure she underwent in the second week of December last year,” statement of DOLE.

“The entire DOLE family, headed by Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III, grieves her untimely demise,” it said.

“Our deepest sympathies and condolences to her bereaved family,” DOLE added.

Senator Angara stated “Sad to hear of the sudden passing of labor Undersecretary Joji Aragon who was often at Senate hearings to represent the department. Rest in peace.”
