PAMPANGA: Candaba Mayor Rene Maglanque Advised Self Quarantine Those in Contact with Him After Test Result Positive

Candaba in Pampanga, Mayor Rene Maglanque tested positive of the “severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) or COVID-19 pandemic disease.

It was on the evening of Sunday, July 19, 2020 Mayor Rene Maglanque made a public acknowledgement that he was contracted with the coronavirus disease after his result of Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) arrived on Saturday, July 18, 2020.

According to the report, after showing symptoms like fever, cough, and diarrhea, Mayor Rene Maglanque immediately took the test last Thursday, July 16, 2020 as advised by the Municipal Health Office (MHO).

In an interview, Maglanque explained, “Sa kabila ng mga pagsunod ko sa mga health protocols, dala ng pagtupad ko sa aking tungkulin bilang inyong alkalde, noong Lunes ng gabi nang maramdaman ko ang mga sintomas ng COVID-19 tulad ng lagnat, pag-ubo,  at pagtatae ay agad akong nag self-quarantine at kumunsulta sa MHO, binigyan ako ng karampatang mga gamot at hanggang ngayon ay iniinom ko kahit maayos na ang pakiramdam,” Maglanque said.

The Mayor is now continuing his home quarantine and medication. Contact tracing was immediately implemented by the authorities.

Candaba Mayor also notified the people in contact with him to take self-quarantine for safety measure.

“Hinihikayat ko ang lahat ng aking mga nakasalamuha na mag self-quarantine at obserbahang mabuti ang kanilang mga sarili sa mga sintomas ng COVID-19, makipag-ugnayan kayo sa ating Municipal Health Office para mapayuhan ng inyong mga dapat gawin,” Maglanque added.
