Scary Handmade Face Masks by Rene Abelardo Went Viral

These days, face masks are in desperate need of everyone. The COVID-19 pandemic is very risky and hard to deal with. To protect oneself, a mask is needed to cover the nose and mouth to avoid contagion.

One netizen from Laguna, Marianne Abelardo, has shared their new “gimik” with her father. They sell customizable character face masks. Marianne said that their masks are all handmade.

“All hand made po ito. puedeng puede pang new normal.” she captioned.

Based on the picture, it can be seen that the character face mask is extremely detailed and unique.

Her father, 50-year-old Rene Abelardo has made these prosthetics since his teenage years according to Coconuts Manila. “I started making prosthetics since I was 17 and my mentor was [art director] Maurice Carvajal. Until now, I’m still working [as one],” he said.

He also had worked on some shows like  Marina, Wansapanataym, Kampanerang Kuba, and Bitoy’s World.

Many netizens have noticed their unique face masks and a lot of them are interested to buy.
