The House Committee on Legislative Franchises resumes its hearing on the ABS-CBN franchise bill. The panel required the presence of the network’s chairman emeritus, Gabby Lopez.

Lopez: I stand by my record over the last 35 years. I have been committed to the people of my country. Gina Lopez is not an outlier in our family. We are totally dedicated to the service of the Filipino. Dito sa ABS-CBN, it is not just a job; it’s a calling.

According to RAPPLER Report, “Lopez is a dual citizen, both a natural born Filipino and an American citizen. He was born to Filipino parents in 1952 while the 1935 Constitution was still in effect, making him automatically a natural born Filipino. His parents gave birth to him, however, in the US so he is also an American citizen.”
