AHW: Massive Resignation of Doctors and Nurses if Government Failed to Comply Responsibility

The “Alliance of Healthcare Workers (AHW) warns the possible massive resignation of medical front liners including doctors and nurses if the government failed to comply to address the needs of the health workers for safety measure.

This is in connection to the report that there are already nurses who have resigned in Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) due to the said problem, lack of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suplly for the front liners.

Similar report published in Aksyon Radyo Bacolod, stating that AHW was not satisfied of the statement of Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) Chief Implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. that the death case of the health workers has been normalized after the government provided sufficient Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the hospitals.

The AHW has already informed the government to properly address about the necessity of the health workers in response to the call of risky duty amid pandemic or else this could result to the collapse of the entire health system of the Philippines.
