The Philippine National Police (PNP) said a total of 234 personnel have been infected with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)
According to PNP, out of 234 confirmed cases, 69 have already recovered from the virus while the number of deaths was at four.
The data was as of 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, the police organization added.
The PNP also recorded a total of 705 probable COVID-19 cases while 540 others were listed as suspected cases.
Moreover, the PNP has to assign isolation facilities inside the Camp Crame for personnel who need to undergo self-quarantine. These include the Kiangan Billeting Center and its taekwondo area.
The PNP also sought the approval of the Department of Health and World Health Organization to develop and operate an RT-PCR testing laboratory to enhance its capability in ensuring the health and safety of its personnel.
Earlier, PNP chief Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa said there is no need to place Camp Crame under lockdown despite the continuous rise of COVID-19 cases within PNP personnel.
