The Visayan Daily Star official Facebook page confirms 40-year-old COVID-19 positive patient, who had lately tested negative, passed away in a Bacolod hospital this morning from complications caused by the disease, a family member confirmed. His mother also died from COVID-19 earlier. 

Recently, As of 4PM, May 2, 2020, the Department of Health reports 156 new cases (PH8773-PH8928) of COVID-19. The total number of cases in the country is now at 8,928. DOH also announces 40 new recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 1,124.
