DOH Recorded 214 new cases of COVID-19, total 12,305 as of May 16, 2020 (Saturday)

The Department of Health (DOH) provides the latest information on the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) situation in the country, including the actions undertaken by the department in addressing the pandemic, through a ‘Virtual Presser’ on May 16, 2020. 

As of 4PM today, May 16, 2020, the Department of Health reports 214 new cases (PH12092-PH12305) of COVID-19. NCR with additional 147 new cases, and 67 new cases from different Regions. The total number of cases in the country is now at 12,305. DOH also announces 101 new recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 2,561. 

As of now, it is advised to the public to cooperate and do not be hard-headed because you are not helping but an additional problem, please stay on your respective houses and maintain a healthy body to fight the disease. 

Now the cure or antibody is not yet discovered and experts predict this will be available the next year 2021, which is alarming. 

In Global tally, 4,563,458 million confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 1,649,275 have been recovered from the deadly disease and 308,165 deaths.
