Bacolod City Continue Implement Sunday Lockdown Under GCQ on May 16, Church Goers React

Bacolod City Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia to release today, Friday, May 15, 2020, the Executive Order (EO) regarding the guidelines on General Community Quarantine (GCQ) to start on May, 16, 2020.

According to the news report published by the iFM Bacolod 943, the City Mayor of Bacolod will implement GCQ guidelines from the National Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) in the city.

According to the City Mayor, the lockdown every Sunday is still in effect to give time every family member to stay together.

The check points in the city will gradually diminish but continue operation on the strategic areas.

Curfew is still in effect from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. and liquor ban within the area.

Leonardia also said that the city will release transferable Home Quarantine Pass (HQP) with control number allowing up to five (5) members of the family but only allowed to go out one at a time.

Odd-even scheme for the vehicle entering in the city is also observed.

The public transportation will resume starting Saturday, May 16, 2020 but limited passengers in observance of the social distancing.

Leonardia appeals people from out of town do not enter in the city without important transaction.

The church goers netizen expressed sentiment against the decision of the policy maker prohibiting the church gathering as categorized under leisure and others,” in the same ranks with casinos, nightclubs and cockfighting.

However, Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas allowed church gathering according to Rmn Iloilo.
