A nurse from the UK dies due to the pandemic coronavirus. Based on the report, the 23-year-old nurse named John Alagos was born in the Philippines and working in the UK and was a British citizen.
Alagos is the youngest medic in the UK that died due to the COVID-19. Prior to his death, Alagos was on a 12-hour shift at Watford General Hospital caring for COVID-19 patients due to the hospital’s short-staffed.
Alagos mother Gina Gustila said that his son told him that he is not feeling well and she asks his son if he could go home and rest but due to the short-staffed, John wasn’t able to go home. And when he got home, he felt unconscios. However, the hospital failed to revive him.
The hospital staff shared their feeling towards what happened to their fellow nurse, “Our staff are fully briefed on the symptoms of COVID-19 and we would never expect anyone to remain at work if they were showing these symptoms or indeed were unwell in any way. We have always kept our staff updated on the latest PPE guidance to make sure they have the right level of protection. John was very popular and will be missed greatly,”
John’s mother shared that the nurses at the Watford General Hospital wear “normal masks” that do not protect their mouths entirely.
Based on the report, Alagos doesn’t have any underlying health problems.
Currently, Britain has 47,806 confirmed hospital cases and 4,934 deaths.
In the Philippines, has now a total of 3,246 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
And nearly 1.3 million cases of coronavirus were recorded worldwide. And the death toll reaches 70,000.
