Breaking News: First (COVID-19) Death in Bacolod City

Bacolod City PIO releases a statement of first COVID-19 death in Bacolod City. A 62-year-old Filipina patient who died last Tuesday, March 31, 2020. The confirmation was made and announced by the City Health Department on April 1, 2020. She was among the 6 confirmed COVID positive cases in the Bacolod City.

She has contact with her 40-year-old son who is tested positive by Coronavirus (COVID-19). The fatality was confined in a local hospital on March 27, 2020, she had a fever, body malaise, and suffered the loss of appetite.

Bacolod City Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia expresses his deepest sympathies to the family and loved ones of the victim. Many people are now suffering from this deadly disease (COVID-19).

As of April 2, 2020, DOH recorded COVID-19 has infected 2,633 people in the Philippines, with 107 death and 51 recovered.

Worldwide tally, there are 937,567 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 194,311 recovered and 47,256 death.
