The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases is set to extend a second time the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) which will end until May 15, 2020 to the areas considered high risk of COVID-19 pandemic.

The nationwide extension of the ECQ includes the following:

In Luzon area:
* Metro Manila
* Batangas
* Laguna
* Cavite
* Rizal
* Quezon province
* Mindoro Island
* Albay
* Catanduanes
* Bulacan
* Bataan
* Nueva Ecija
* Pampanga
* Pangasinan
* Benguet
* Tarlac
* Zambalez
Note: this list of areas extending ECQ may change on April 30, 2020.

Visayas areas:
* Antique
* Iloilo
* Aklan
* Capiz
* Cebu

Mindanao areas:
* Davao del Norte
* Davao de Oro
* Davao City

However, report published by the Philippine Star informing the public about the areas under Moderate Enhance Community Quarantine includes:

According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, President Rodrigo Duterte would consider or not depending on the country’s health system established the minimum health standards for people along with its capacity to accommodate possible increase in COVID-19 confirmed cases.

He also noted that the decision would be based on the geographic risk of the outbreak according to age and health risk, also considered are the essential sectors and public transport, Roque said.

On April 7, 2020, Luzon extended the lockdown which was approved by the chief executive which is determined to end on April 30.

However, President Rodrigo Duterte said, the ECQ will not lift until a certain vaccine is available in the market. Duterte also increase his reward to 50-million pesos for the Filipino scientist to discover with the vaccine.
