The ABS-CBN has decided to temporarily stop admitting studio audience to its shows starting today (10 March 2020, to avoid the spread of coronavirus or COVID-19 outbreak in the Philippines. The ABS-CBN has decided to temporarily stop admitting studio audience to its shows starting today (10 March 2020), following the government’s declaration of a state of a public health emergency. The affected TV programs include “It’s Showtime,” “ASAP Natin To,” “Magandang Buhay,” “Banana Sundae,” and “I Can See Your Voice.”

The announcement was made by the ABS-CBN official Twitter account stated that they follow the government’s order as their precautionary measure to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19) and to ensure the safety of anybody including their crews, artists, audience, and staffs.

According to ABS-CBN posts, “the safety and well-being of our studio audience, artists, crew, and production teams are of utmost importance to us and we are taking this option for their protection. We feel that it is our shared responsibility to help in preventing the spread of the COVID-19.”

As of March 10, 2020, more than 114,223 people have been infected and over 4,005 have died worldwide from the novel coronavirus, which has reached some 80 countries and territories. There are 62,834 recovered from the epidemic disease.

In the Philippines, there are 24 cases of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), said by President Duterte.
