NATIONWIDE: SM Supermalls Waive Tenant Rentals from March 16 to April 14, 2020

Good News to the tenants of SM Supermalls Nationwide. The SM Supermalls announces that they will waive rentals to all tenants nationwide from March 16 to April 14, 2020. Some tenants of SM Supermall feels relief when hearing this good news. The tenants can give more assistance to their employees during the period of Community Quarantine.

According to SM Supermalls President Steven T. Tan, “We share our tenant partners’ concerns at the unfortunate situation and will waive rental charges for those affected and unable to operate during this period.”

SM has allocated PhP100M to provide protective equipment and supplies towards hospitals for the safety of medical front liners, as they actively fight the spread of the coronavirus.

For those workers in SM Supermarkets, SM will provide free shuttle services to employees due to the cancellation of public transport in view of the enhanced community quarantine. To assist the commuting personnel while the SM stores remain open to serve shoppers with basic necessities.

DOH recorded (March 19, 2020) a total of 202 cases have been reported nationwide with COVID-19, 17 dead and 7 having recovered the disease according to the Department of Health.
