Several Private Schools and Colleges in the country (Selected Areas) announced class suspension due to the Novel Coronavirus or 2019-nCoV. Here is a list of schools and areas where classes have been suspended for Tuesday, February 4, 2020.
Recently, the coronavirus outbreak has killed at least 362 people and infected more than 17,300 globally, as it continues to spread beyond China.
Department of Health (DOH) confirmed the first case of novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in the Philippines. A 38-year-old Chinese woman who arrived in the Philippines via Hong Kong Last January 21, 2020, from Wuhan, China.
Here are the lists of schools has been suspended:
Private Schools in Metro Manila:
- Chiang Kai Shek College – suspended until February 8
- Hope Christian High School – class resumption on February 10
- St. Jude Catholic School – class resumption on February 8
- St. Stephen’s High School – class resumption on February 10
- Uno High School – suspended until February 8
Philippine Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III confirmed Sunday the second Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV-ARD) case and the first death in the country. The second case was a 44-year-old Chinese male who happened to be the companion of the first confirmed case of the novel coronavirus in the country.
