Carl Malone Montecido is a visually impaired student from Bacolod City, resident of Barangay 29. He was so happy when international singers notice him. Sam Smiths reposted the video on his twitter account, “WHO IS THIS KID!!!!!? YOU ARE OUT OF THIS UNIVERSE WHOEVER YOU ARE.”
Also, Kelly Clarkson, Pussycat Dolls member Nicole Scherzinger, and Niall Horan of One Direction recognized him. The video was uploaded by Trixie Madison, has garnered more than 10 million views and almost 300,000 retweets on Twitter.

According to the Visayan Daily Star, The Ellen DeGeneres Show staff who spoke to him via a video call did not want any further details of his guesting disclosed.
Recently, Montecido got a surprise by SM City Bacolod, two big carts full of groceries, an SM gift certificate, and a Grand Videoke Symphony 2 PRO plus as appreciation gifts. He sings I’m Not the Only One” of Smith and “Exchange of Hearts” at SM City Bacolod Supermarket.
He was known as the blind balladeer from Bacolod as he joins It’s Showtime Tawag ng Tanghalan last 2016. And he also joined Pilipinas Got Talent in 2010 where he made into semi-finals.
The SM Bacolod public relations manager, May Castro said that Montecido was among those who performed in the mall during the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation celebration.
