FULL VIDEO: 5 Suspected Cases of 2019-nCoV Under Quarantine at Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital (NOPH)

Provincial Public Information Officer Bimbo Miraflor and Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Liland Estacion announce that there are five (5) individuals confined at the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital (NOPH) for isolation and medical treatment. Recently, Governor Roel Degamo announces suspension of classes in all levels of Negros Oriental starting tomorrow, February 5, 2020, until Friday, Feb. 7.

They are confirmed to have personal contact with the Chinese couple who tested positive for the (2019-nCov). The patients at NOPH are considered as “Persons under Investigation (PUI)” and will be monitored until Feb. 8 which is the end of the 14-Day incubation period, said by Officer Bimbo Miraflor.

Meanwhile, Dr. Estacion cited that the Provincial Health Office is doing another round of contact tracing to confirm if there are more individuals who had personal contact with the Chinese nationals following the death of one of them, according to PIA Negros Oriental.

Recently, the coronavirus continued to spread apace on Tuesday, with more than 20,500 cases confirmed worldwide and at least 427 deaths.
