BREAKING NEWS: Magnitude 3.7 Earthquake Hits Kiblawan (Davao Del Sur) on Thursday, February 6, 2020

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) recorded that the magnitude 3.7 hits Kiblawan (Davao Del Sur) at 02:23:52 AM on Thursday morning, February 6, 2020.

The location is 06.61°N, 125.26°E – 007 km S 46° E of Kiblawan (Davao Del Sur) and the Depth of Focus (Km) is 017. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported an Intensity IV – Malungon, Sarangani, Intensity III – Kidapawan City; Tupi, South Cotabato, and Intensity I – Alabel, Sarangani; General Santos City; Koronadal City.

Moreover, the earthquake jolts are with no prior signs. Recently, several places in and out of the Philippines were shaken by quakes of different magnitudes. Also, Phivolcs set an alert level 2 to Mayon Volcano.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) is a service institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) that is principally mandated to mitigate disasters that may arise from volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunami and other related geotectonic phenomena.
