Breaking News: Magnitude 7.7 Earthquake Jolts Cuba and Jamaica

The U.S. Geological Survey says a powerful magnitude 7.7 earthquake hits between the island nations of Cuba and Jamaica on Tuesday. The United States Geological Survey reports the quake began at 2:10 p.m. south of Cuba and northwest of Jamaica.

There are no reports out of either Jamaica or Cuba claiming the quake was felt on the islands. A 7.7 magnitude earthquake is considered a major earthquake that can cause serious damage.

There are no reports yet on the powerful earthquake hits between Cuba and Jamaica. Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says “Hazardous tsunami waves are possible.”
