PHIVOLCS release a statement of a 5.3 Magnitude Earthquake hits Padada (Davao Del Sur) on Wednesday Morning, December 18, 2019, around 4:18:00 AM. 

The location is 06.42°N, 125.48°E – 028 km S 30° E of Padada (Davao Del Sur) and the Depth of Focus (Km) is 009 with the Origin “Tectonic.”

Intensity V – Digos City
Intensity IV – General Santos City

Padada, Davao del Sur is still under a state of calamity after a 6.9 magnitude earthquake that hit parts of Mindanao last Sunday, December 15, 2019.

Phivolcs stated that they cannot predict when or where an earthquake or tsunami will happen. What they do is to prepare earthquake scenarios of hazards and impacts to be used as a guide for mitigation, preparedness, and response.
