PHILVOLCS announced a 5.1 magnitude earthquake hits Eastern Samar Friday afternoon, November 8, 2019 around 1:31 PM. The location of the 5.1 magnitude earthquake is 33km SW of Guiuan town with depth of only 3km.

According to Philvolcs said it was felt on several areas Instrumental Intensities: Intensity IV – Borongan City Intensity III – Palo, Leyte and San Francisco, Southern Leyte Intensity II – Surigao City Intensity I – Ormoc City; Gingoog City

According to source there is no casualties has been reported. People of Eastern Samar must aware of the aftershocks. If needed proceed to nearest evacuation centers. Phivolcs, “We cannot predict when or where an earthquake will happen. There is no reliable technology in the world that can confidently predict the date, time and location of large earthquakes. Please avoid sharing any messages that could cause panic and fear.”
