#WALANGPASOK: Classes Suspension on June 12 and 15, 2018 Nationwide Announced

NewsInsider

The Department of Education (DepEd) announces a class suspension nationwide on June 12 (Independence Day) and June 15 (Eid’l Fitr).  The said dates are regular holidays. On Wednesday, June 6, 2018, Philippine President signed the Proclamation No. 514 as a formal regular holiday for Eid’l Fitr.

“DepEd indicated the June 15 holiday in its Department Order (DO) No. 25, which presented the official calendar for school year (SY) 2018-2019,” said Education Undersecretary Annalyn Sevilla.

Education Undersecretary Annalyn Sevilla stated that holidays and no-class dates listed through DO No. 25 pertain only to schools.

Philippines celebrate the Eid’l Fitr under Republic Act 9177 of 2002 but the date is not exact as the Muslim calendar is based on different phases of the moon.
