Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) episode on January 13, 2018 features Zaijian Jaranilla as Freddie. He grows up in poor family in Famy, Laguna. Freddie wants to be teacher in order to help and teach his siblings, who are not able to finish their studies due to poverty.

Sisters of Boystown (orphanage run by missionary nuns, Freddie is able to go to high school for free. His eldest brother Elo, he told to his siblings to save five (5) pesos everyday to contribute to Freddie’s weekly allowance.

Meanwhile, Freddie graduates in high-school and determined to finish a college degree. His mother and his crippled older brother Elo to send him to college and he succeeds. Eventually, his older brother goes in and out of the hospital due to multiple kidney complications and few months later, he dies.

Freddie is more motivated to finish his studies and years later he finished a degree in BS Education, Major in English in the Philippine Normal University. He went home to Laguna to pays back the efforts of his siblings by sending his nieces and nephews to school.
