Over 40, 000 Low-Skilled Workers Will Loss Job Because of BPO Automation

Over 40, 000 low-skilled workers will fired on the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry because of the “Automation” but it will open on 700, 000 higher-skilled workers, according to the officials. According to Alex Tined, program director of IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines, “We need to teach them the new jobs. The challenge now is to make sure that we have people to do the mid and high skill jobs.”

Alex Tined added, over 388, 000 works will open in middle level while the 309, 000 on high skill level. The government analyst estimated 1.8 million workers in BPO industry in 2022.

Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) is one of the main source of income in the Philippines and makes a big help of increasing peso.

Philippines in now at 3rd place in the world’s top BPO Destinations, according to Tined.
