Land Owner Norberto Lumayno Has Been Killed by NPA, Calatrava Negros Occidental

The suspected members of New People’s Army (NPA) ambush a local landowner and his driver at Calatrava town in Negros Occidental on Thursday Morning, June 22, 2017. Norberto Lumayno seen dead with his driver after a group of armed men believed to be members of the NPA who ambushed the vehicle at around 7:00 A.M.

It happens when he travelled on his sugar plantation. According to Calatrava Police Chief Insp. John Joel Batusbatusan, “Ang dami kasing sardines at tuna na de lata sa loob, baka more than 2 days na sila diyan nag-aabang.”

The armed men stay for a days because there were canned goods discovered inside the plantation.

Kelly Lumayno-Emnace, Norberto’s sister told to reporters that “Sana kinuha na lang nila ang lupa, huwag lang ang buhay ng kapatid ko.”

Recovered from the crime scene were assorted empty shells of M16, M14 and AK 47 assault rifles and an unexploded M203 grenade launcher ammunition.
