BPI Glitch: BPI Senior VP Catherine Santamaria Clarifies Issues

The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) is experiencing “System Glitch” resulting to lost clients’ money in their account.

In an interview on Wednesday, June 07, 2017, Senior Vice President Catherine Santamaria clarifies issues on system glitch and assured clients of more than 8 million customers not to worry because their money is just there and will be back to its normal figure when the system is fixed.

“Please do not panic…We will make sure that your money is there,” Santamaria said.

Another statement from BPI president and CEO Cezar Consing who first apologizes clients and vowed to restore their money within the day.

“We want to assure them that they have not lost money. This is simply a glitch. The amount will be restored by the end of the day.”

“We apologize very earnestly and very sincerely to our clients who were affected by this,” Consing said.

“System Glitch” is a system error resulting loss of money from the BPI clients. But the management clarifies that not all clients’ account were affected although the management admitted that there were some that looks their balance upon inquiry “zero” and some were doubled their amount, yet the management assured that the “system glitch” can be fixed within the day.
