Katherine Espin defeats the 83 contestant from around the world. Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong from Philippines crowned her successor Katherine Espin from Ecuador at the end of the pageant. To raise awareness to the tourists and travelers regarding ecological conservation in order to directly benefit the economic development and to foster respect for different cultures and for human rights, a Miss Earth 2016 pageant aims.
