The Facebook post went viral on Sunday, October 9, Uson advised her followers to post their photos after the Rappler published Ressa’s article entitled to “How Facebook algorithmsimpact democracy.”  In this article, Ressa claims fake accounts, anonymous pages and bots “links” Uson’s page to increase their accounts’ reach.  As a result, Uson’s page becomes powerful and essential in making a social influence because of “increasedengagement and invisible web of actions” making her page to link with others and take advantage of Facebook’s algorithms.

Ressa added in her article that it partly explains why Uson’s posts can compete and sometimes beat the news groups.

Uson reveals in a separate post that her Facebook page has the top Facebookengagement for the week of October 9, with almost 2 million engagement on the social network.  Uson’s page beat traditional media like ABS-CBN News, GMA News, Rappler and Inquirer.
