PNP chief Director Ronald De la Rosa said at the press conference on Saturday night, it could be a tactic of the Abu Sayyaf Group to make the forces of the government fall down that has been killing most their members in Sulu and Basilan.  De la Rosa informed the public the two females and a male are being considered as ‘persons of interest’.  The PNP confirmed that they have the artist’s sketch of these people.  He added that the primary suspect in the Valentine’s Day bombing in 2005, Abdul Manap Mentang could also be behind the attack.  He made this assumption because of the similarity of the improvised explosive devised (IED) that was used last Friday’s bombing in Davao City.

Mentang is still at-large at the moment.

De la Rosa also admitted that the attack was not done singlehandedly by the ASG, they opened the possibility that the bombing was a connivance of powerful forces who led the way for the Abu Sayyaf Group to do it.
