Iloilo City, Western Visayas – Department of Health (DOH) has recently noted a quick rise of dengue cases to all identified barangays hot zones in the Philippines.  It has been reported  that the case was more than 84,000 since January 1, 2016.

The DOH warned residents who live in barangay under the hot zones area to be more careful about their surroundings.  Because of the quick rise of dengue cases, the DOH has a directive reactivating dengue-dedicated lanes in public hospitals for fast admittance for suspected and confirmed patients of dengue.

Recently, report from the Barangay officials and health workers of Sta.Barbara, Iloilo City was now taking actions to avoid the quick rise of dengue cases in the province.

Local officials of Iloilo City created a natural mosquito repellant that will be given to the different schools in the province to avoid the quick rise of dengue cases. they prepared mosquito repellants that are packed by at least a hundred  cups of neem cream that will be given to the schools of the province. This is another way for concerned local officials to prevent the rise of dengue cases in their province.

Neem Cream is made from the leaves of the neem or Indian lilac tree, according to ABS-CBN report.
