Golden State Warriors ‘Draymond Green’ Suspended on Game 5 of NBA Finals 2016 Against Cleveland Cavaliers

Breaking news! Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green is suspended for Game 5 of the NBA Finals against Cleveland Cavaliers and expected to watch from the O.co Coliseum next door to Golden State’s Oracle Arena on Monday, June 13, 2016 (Tuesday in Manila). According to source told ESPN’s Marc Stein, Green must be out of the arena two hours before tipoff, but he would be allowed by the NBA to enter the arena immediately after the game to join celebration should Golden State win.

The O.co Coliseum is connected by a tunnel to Oracle Arena. Green was suspended after he was assessed a flagrant foul 1 by the league for his actions in Game 4. He drew the fragrant foul when Lebron James stepped over him and he swung his arm and appeared to make contact with James’ groin area. James turn around and chest-to-chest with Green as play continued.

The NBA called Green’s action a “retaliatory swipe of his hand to the groin” of James. Under the league rules, Green cannot be in the Oracle Arena, if a player attends a game while suspended, he faces a $2, 000 fine.

NBA executive vice president of basketball operations Kiki Vandeweghe statement, “The cumulative points system is designed to deter flagrant fouls in our game.”
