Iloilo Farmers Garnered P28 Million Worth Of Farm Equipment By The Italian Development Cooperation

A P28 million worth of agricultural equipment was given to the farmers in province of Iloilo given by the Italian Development Cooperation together with their partner organizations Action Aid and Balay Mindanaw Foundation Inc.

Straightly benefiting 1,500 farmers and with the indirect help for almost 19,000 residents with five municipalities in the province, now named as, “Rice Granary of the Visayas.” It has also 130 hand tractors and 65 hand treshers to distribute all over the province.

It was reported in the CNN Philippines, that the farm equipment was given and had a little cumlmination in the town or Carles where in farmers had received their 26 hand tractors and 13 rice treshers.

There were also municipalities who had been awarded such as: San Dionisio, Batad, Estancia, and Concepcion. These are the places where Yolanda largely hit and put a big affect in the provice last 2013.

According to official, “This is a post-Yolanda agriculture restoration program that aims to boost the productivity of the farmers affected by typhoon Yolanda,”
