NU Pep Squad Won the Crown of UAAP Cheerdance Competition 2014 -Watch Video

The National University ((NU) Bulldogs Pep Squad dominates all other performers during the UAAP Cheerdance competition held at SMART-Araneta Coliseum. NU Pep Squad performs inspired native American-Indian themed routine before the crowd of more than 22,000 people and able to captured the eyes of the respectable judges.

NU CheerdanceFor the second time around, NU won the title with 677.5 points crushing the Pantay-Pantay themed routine of the UP Pep Squad with the score of 658 points featuring rainbow colours of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender pride flag.

After driving Disney concept “Aladdin” last year’s competition that bagged the crown in 2013, this time, with its majestic “Pocahontas” inspired flawless performance of tosses and pyramids, NU wins second straight of the UAAP Cheerdance crown this year 2014. NU Bulldog Pep Squad also perfectly demonstrated tumbling and exceptional floor formation that wowed the crowd and judges.

Every performances will have a corresponding points system such as the following: stunts 100 points, pyramids 100 points, tumbling 100 points, tosses 100 points while 400 points for dance moves. The overall effectiveness is broken down to the following criteria: choreography, technique, and group execution.

NU will take home the prize worth P340,000, while UP took receives P200,000 and UST P140,000 for their respective podium finishes.

Meanwhile, the group stunts competition award was given to Far Eastern University while UST placed second, and NU in the third place.
