Sandiganbayan has drafted the arrest warrants on Thursday afternoon, June 19, 2014 versus Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. and many others in the alleged plunder case of pork barrel funds.
The issuance of warrant of arrest is based on the findings of probable cause which was issued by the office of the Ombudsman of the same date but according to Sandiganbayan Clerk of Court Estella Teresita Rosete, the warrants of arrest has no power yet since it was not yet signed because the office of the anti-graft was closed at 4:30 this afternoon.
According to Rosete, Revilla’s camp called her office at around 3:15 p.m. this afternoon informing her that senator has surrendered voluntarily late this afternoon of the same date.
After the warrant is served tomorrow, June 20, 2014, the sheriff of Sandiganbayan will formally turn over senator Revilla to the Philippine National Police (PNP) of to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
If the PNP takes over from the sheriff, he may be detained at the Custodial Center in Camp Crame which was allegedly prepared and renovated for the accused in the pork scam. But if the NBI assumes responsibility over senator Revilla, he will be probably detained at the NBI headquarters in Manila.
However, according to Atty. Joel Bodegon, if the anti-graft court will be delaying on acting on their petition for bail, senator Bong Revilla will be staying more nights in jail, Bodegon told ANC news reporter.
