Filipino-American beauty queen Auda Mari was nearly made history in the USA on Sunday, June 8, 2014 as she was almost crowned Miss USA 2014.

As the final results were announced by the host of the big event, Miss North Dakota, Auda Mari kept her eyes closed and hold tight with the hands of Miss Nevada, Nia Sanchez who then crowned Miss USA 2014.

Nearly an hour before the Top 10 finalists was announced, the Facebook account of Mari was flooded with post of friends and supporters with best wishes to make it and win the most coveted title on Donald Trump’s Miss USA pageant.

As the evening wore on, and the field go through down to the final 6 contestants, the Filipino blood, Mari was just very relax and confidence.

During the question and answer portion which is normally given to test a competitor’s grace and composure of every contestants, Mari was asked fairly personal question.

When the host of the big night event asked her how her former bullies back home might affect her present life, she replied that many of them had already apologized for her past behavior.

With her experiences in extemporaneous public speaking since she graces first runner-up at the Miss Teen USA pageant in 2011, Mari was able to deliver the answer with composure.

Afterwards, Mari’s answers of the question about bullying at that pageant drew attention from Seventeen Magazine.

Aside from Auda Mari, some other Filipino blooded walked the stage for the Miss USA include Candace Kendall and Miss Kansas Audrey Banach who both failed to make the top 20.

Mari whose grandfather is originally from Pangasinan, Philippines come to the United States to earn the profession as a doctor. She admitted she never been inclined into pageants until she was recruited into and winning Miss North Dakota Teen in 2011.

Mari was born and raised in Fargo and currently studying at North Dakota State University (NDSU) taking up public relations.
