Kiana Valenciano enters the Top-12 finalist of the prestigious competition in the country, the Philippine Popular Music Festival best known as “PhilPop 2014.”
Kiana Valenciano is a daughter of Eleven Times Best Male Performer of Awit Awards, Gary Valenciano better known as “Gary V. or “Mr. Pure Energy.”
Kiana Valenciano joined the music competition for the first time. She interpreted the song composed by Mike Villegas entitled “Dear Heart” that made her way to the top-12 finalists of the PhilPop 2014 music competition.
According to Kiana, she got excited to be one of the contestants in the said prestigious competition in the country and she is looking forward that this will be the starting point to reach her dream of following the footstep of her father who is considered one of the country’s pop icon.
After the competition, Kiana told the reporter of ABS-CBN News that she got a little bit of pressure since people were having a high expectation for her and besides that was her first time of joining the competition.

“Actually people are expecting me to feel very pressured and all that but it being my first competition, sobrang ganda nung song with such an amazing composer. Parang winning is the least of my problems na. The whole experience in itself, it’s like nanalo na din ako,” Kiana said.
Asked if where she got her strength and inspiration during the competition, she said that she got all her strength and confidence to her family who were present during the competition to give her full support. She also shared that her father Gary V helped her for her vocal enhancement and her mother Angeli Pangilinan as her manager.
The Philippine Popular Music Festival (PhilPop) is an annual songwriting competition founded on year 2014 organized by the Philpop MusicFest Foundation.
Winners for this year PhilPop 2014 completion will be announced during the last day of event on July 26, 2014 at the Meralco Theater in Pasig City.
