Explosion Details at the Army Support Headquarters in Fort Bonifacio -Video

The massive explosion that took place at the bomb and ammunition storage of the Explosives and Ordinance Division (EOD) inside the Army Support Command (ASCOM) in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig was captured by the news team of ABS-CBN on Wednesday morning, May 7, 2014.

Anchorman Raffy Santos and cameraman Tani Dionisio were at the vicinity reporting the incidents when the major explosion was preceded by several small burst that injured 25 people.

The 25 victims of the explosion incidents include soldiers and civilians and seven fire volunteers wounded and rushed to the nearby hospitals for immediate treatment.

The media reported the official list of critical condition from the AFP Medical Center in V. Luna, Quezon City that include the following victims: Captain Julius Galeon, Corporal Rosalino Galia, 1Lt. Diney Alosada, Master Sergeant Ferdinand Rapal and Sergeant Rommel Sepino.

Army deputy spokesman Capt. Anthony Bacus give the detail of the incidents saying that before the explosion, fire broke out at the EOD building shortly after 10 a.m. Fire out was declared at around 11 a.m.

Army spokesperson Lt. Col. Noel Detoyato who was among the first responders said that the incident started with a small burst like of those of firecrackers then followed by a major explosion that seems to drowned all of them.

Detoyato added that those wounded were mostly hit by shrapnel and debris from the blast. He also pointed the possibility of sabotage in the since that the fire and explosion happened within a secure compound.
