Boy Abunda to Father of Terrence Romeo: “I Respect You But I Don’t Respect Your Opinion”

“I respect you but I don’t respect your opinion.”

These were the words expressed by TV host Boy Abunda during the “P.O.V.” segment of “The Buzz” Sunday, May 25, 2014 as he reacted in connection to the statements made by the father of GlobalPort cager Terrence Romeo concerning the issue thrown at the comedian TV host Vice Ganda and the young basketball star player.

The 22-year-old basketball star of  UAAP Far Eastern University Tamaraws has been linked to the “It’s Showtime” principal host Vice Ganda since the time Terrence became active in the team, by which, concerning this, comedian TV hosts, as he is an alumnus of the school has been vocal of his support towards him.

Boy AbundaAccording to the report published at ABS-CBNnews.com quoting the interview with Spin.ph last week where the father of Terrence come to the defense of him about the allegations that the cager supposedly received gifts from the comedian actor Vice Ganda which includes a condominium unit and a car.

The father of Romeo during the interview said that it was just all about rumors and no reality with the issue of alleged condominium unit and a car.

“Walang katotohanan ‘yun,” he told Spin.ph. “Kasi kahit pumunta ka sa condo ni Terrence, iisa lang ang kotse niya tapos yung condo niya, pabahay lang ng Globalport ‘yun.”

Romeo’s father also added denying the issue that his son Terrence in on the relationship with Vice Ganda because according to him he strictly taught his son not to get involve with anything of bad report.

“Si Terrence talagang tinuturuan ko ‘yan ng katuturan. So kung totoo man ‘yang istorya na ‘yan, sinuway niya ko. Dahil hindi naman lahat ng oras nakasama ko siya. Pero si Terrence, kumpleto ng aral sa akin ‘yan. Pinaiiwas ko siya sa mga bagay na hindi mabuti,” he said.

With these remarks of the father of Terrence, “Buzz ng Bayan” host Boy Abunda got offended and reacted to the statement of the older Romeo.

Abunda made a follow up conversation with him to clear about the matters and he said: “Noong iyong sinabi na pinalaki mo nang maayos ang iyong anak at para lumayo doon sa mga hindi mabuti, if that was in reference na hindi mabuti to gays, kayo po ay nagkakamali.”

“Hindi po tantamount, hindi po equivalent ang hindi po pagiging mabuti sa isang bakla. That’s unfair. That’s totally unfair at nakakasakit po ‘yan sa amin. Ang sakit pakinggan,” added Abunda.

Abunda also made a clear statement regarding the alleged gifts given by Vice Ganda to Romeo, he said, “Yung tungkol sa mga condominium units, Hummer, so what kung magbibigay ka? Bakit, ninakaw ba ni Vice Ganda ‘yan?”

On the other hand, Vice Ganda hinted last May 9, 2014 through a series tweet on his Twitter account that he made an end with that alleged relationship saying in one of his tweet, “It’s over,” I TRied but im TiRed, Time to Rest,” he said.

Fans of the comedian host were speculating based on the preceding hints in which some of the letters was printed in the capitalization.

Terrence has been issued statement denying that he and Vice Ganda is on a relationship.

Amidst the controversial issue between the basketball star and the comedian host, the 38-year-old “It’s Showtime” host reiterated that he never mentioned the name “Romeo” in any of his interviews and will never throw negative comments about Romeo.

“Never akong nagpangalan. I never clarified, I never admitted, I never confirmed anything. I never said na we were together, wala akong tahasang direktang sinabing Terrence Romeo at wala akong masamang sinabi sa kanya. I will never say anything ill about him,” he said.
