Basketball star Chris Tiu honored as The Outstanding Young Men of the Philippines 2013 noted with his advocacy in channeling his celebrity status to help form values reformation of today’s Filipino youth.

In behalf of his Fellow Awardees, Chris Tiu has assumed the task of delivering the message that focused more about giving emphasis on the importance of “Ignatian spirituality” which principle drives to urge the youth to “be more, and do more.”

ChrisTiuThe 28-year-old TV host and barangay kagawad mentioned in his speech[watch video] that this simple motto requires constant practice and self-discipline in order to attain its fullness which means that our motivation must transcend our own causes for a greater higher being, he said.

Tiu was a former team captain of the Ateneo Blue Eagles and the Smart Gilas Philippine national team from 2008 – 20012 representing the international competition. Aside from being a basketball star, Tiu has become a television show host and at this present he serves as kagawad in Barangay Urdaneta Makati City.
