The United State Navy Hospital Ship or the USN Mercy (T-AH-19) is leaving from San Diego to the Philippines and will arrive in the country early sometime in December 2013. This international assistance coming from the United States is one of the best efforts to assist the victims of Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines.

USNS Mercy is a floating military hospital staffed by expert military doctors and corpsmen based on San Diego, California, USA. Once arrived, this could be the first floating hospital ship in the country to response the typhoon calamity. The ship contains the following facilities: 12-fully-equipped operating theater, 1,000-bed hospital facility, medical laboratory, radiological services, optometry lab, pharmacy, CAT scan and 2-oxygen-producing plants.

Mercy ship has the capacity as large as 1,000 beds and capability of receiving about 200-patients per day. Expert surgeons can perform surgical procedures regardless of various sea conditions.
