According to a Bureau of Animal Industry official, chicken production has been catching up with market demand.

Dr. Reildrin Morales, director of BAI, stated that this was spoken about throughout a gathering with fast food chain officials and broiling industry stakeholders on Monday.

Several fast food restaurants openly claimed that some of their locations were unable to serve fried chicken leading to a shortage of meat that met their guidelines.

“Kausap natin kahapon [ang fastfood chains] kasama ang stakeholders ng broiler industry at sinasabi nilang gumaganda na po ang production cycle,” he explained.

(We already talked to our stakeholders in the broiler industry, and they said the production cycle is getting better.)

According to DA data, 349 million heads of poultry were butchered from January to June this year, which is only bit more than just the 346 million slaughtered last year, according to Morales.

The DA anticipates good outcomes within the month or in August, as some fast food companies’ farms have already reached “full capacity.”

“Tingnan po natin sa July and August kasi ang sinasabi ng ibang kompanya nasa full capacity naman daw po ang farms and tingnan natin ang darating na cycle. hopefully makahabol ang suplay sa mataas na demand,” Morales said.
