Andrea Brillantes clarified that her viral baby talk was caused by her normal voice, and she didn’t really mean it.
She claims that it comes out of nowhere, especially when she feels cared for and at easiness with the person with whom she is having a chat.
In May, a video of Andrea and her boyfriend, Ricci Rivero, having a baby talk while shopping at a store in Siargao went viral.
Due to the obvious manner the Kapamilya young actress speaks, she became a social media topic.
Some people thought her baby talk was inappropriate for her age. However, there are those who claim not to see anything wrong and even shrug.
Andrea clarified the reason for this viral baby talk in veteran broadcaster Karen Davila’s latest YouTube vlog.
“Voice ko talaga siya. Pero hindi siya iyong napipili ko subconsciously.
“Bigla na lang siya nagsi-switch. Kasi noong bata ako, kulang din ako sa pansin, kasi nga bunso ako.
“Hindi ako lumaki sa parents ko. Baby-baby talaga ako dati-dati pa,” Andrea explained.
Andrea believes that her behavior has both positive and negative aspects.
“Minsan lalabas siya kapag ibig sabihin nun, komportable ako sa iyo or feeling ko may nakikita akong father figure sa iyo, or kuya figure, ate figure.”
“Kasi lumaki rin ako sa broken family so wala akong masyadong father figure talaga,” Andrea explained.
She went on to say that her father figure, her grandfather, orphaned her when she was young.
“Kapag nakakakita ako ng ganun, lumalabas iyong pagka-baby talk ko kasi feeling ko maaalagaan niya ako.
“Minsan lumalabas siya kapag masyado akong excited or kapag masyado akong happy. Minsan lalabas din siya kapag hindi ako komportable sa tao, parang natatakot ako o nahihiya ako.

When others observed the apparently different way she spoke and her voice, Karen asked Andrea if she was offended.
“Hindi, kasi kahit ako hindi ko rin maintindihan,” Andrea answered.
“Bumabalik at bumabalik talaga siya.
“Nababago ko lang siya kapag may role ako kasi trabaho yun at saka kailangan.”
“Feeling ko part talaga siya ng childhood ko na nawala.”
